As we kick off our Perseverance Series, I am excited to welcome, Evelyna Castro, Ms.Wheelchair WA. 2014 / Makeup and Voice-Over Artist.

Evelyna Castro was born and raised in San Jose, CA and relocated with her family in 2006 to Washington State.
Evelyna was born with Spina Bifida and uses a manual wheelchair to get around.
She is the 2nd oldest of 5 children.

Evelyna has been involved in wheelchair sports since she was very young thanks to her parents who put her on the sports team Wheels On Fire. Evelyna eventually competed in track where she won 4 Silver metals at Nationals, and archery where she won 2nd place at nationals. She also competed in other sports. Evelyna went on to study Theatre at Foothill Theatre Conservatory in Los Altos Hills CA., Prosthetic Makeup at Cinema Makeup School in Los Angeles, CA, Radio Broadcasting at The Academy of Radio & Television Broadcasting, Evelyna is currently attending school to be a health coach at the local college.

In 2014 Evelyna competed for the title of Ms. Wheelchair WA. and WON to her surprise!!
